Writers should take every opportunity to practice their craft and get published. Local news websites and papers provide excellent platforms for adding to your writing resume. Here is a very small piece I wrote that was published both in the Thurrock Independent newspaper (Thursday 22nd June 2017) and on the Your Thurrock website (http://www.yourthurrock.com/2017/06/19/review-cdot-sing-centuries/).
Review: CDOT sing through the centuries

CDOT pulled out all the stops to deliver an enchanting performance at St. Thomas’ Church Hall, Grays last Friday evening.
Their beautiful harmonies filled the hall as they took the audience on a lyrical journey wading through folk songs of the 1600s; pattering through Gilbert & Sullivan operettas; chest heaving hits from Les Miserables; toe tapping numbers such as Funicular Funiculà; with a peppering of Beatles classics and – Mama Mia – so much more before bringing us home aboard Glenn Miller’s Chattanooga Choo Choo.
CDOT – Churches Drama and Opera in Grays – are due to perform at St. Joseph’s Church, Stanford-le-Hope.
